- Sylvain Ruel starts his first company in a family-owned space measuring 15,000 sq. ft.
- 2000
Plani-Mex Inc. is founded in March 2000, following the merger of BRICOMEX INC. and PLANIMAG INC.
BRICOMEX, with 18 years of experience, had carved out an enviable position in the market for the design and production of plastic stands. The company gradually expanded by penetrating the food industry with prestigious accounts such as Rôtisseries St-Hubert, Restaurants Giorgio, Le Groupe Colabor and Provigo Distribution.
The next breakthrough came in the electronics sector when it signed its first agreement with Northern Telecom Canada for the production of telephone consoles. This was followed by a deal with La Confédération des Caisses Populaires Desjardins to create an exclusive model for direct payment and credit card terminals.
PLANIMAG INC. has been active since 1992 in the area of commercial layout. It has offered services in the preparation of blueprints, merchandising of sales and equipment, and retail accessories for businesses primarily in the stationary, bookselling and food industries.
Both companies enjoyed an excellent reputation for quality and reliability.
